Companions in Christ is a small group experience in Spiritual Formation. The course runs 28 weeks with new classes beginning each fall. By taking this course you will truly deepen your relationship with God and feel God’s presence in ways you never felt possible.

The study is divided into 5 parts:

Embracing the Journey: the Way of Christ - focuses on understanding how your own faith journey has shaped you as a Christian and growing in a covenant community with the rest of the participants
Feeding on the Word: the Mind of Christ - focuses on various ways of studying scripture with using your imagination as well as meditation techniques
Deepening Our Prayer: the Heart of Christ - focuses on your own struggles with prayer and how to overcome them, and provides opportunities to pray using scripture, as well as exploration using contemplative prayer and intercessory prayer
Responding to Our Call: the Work of Christ - focuses on identifying God’s call and spiritual gifts for each participant
Exploring Spiritual Guidance: the Spirit of Christ - explores the pathway to spiritual formation using spiritual guidance, one-on-one and in a group setting; and also learn the steps for prayerful discernment of God’s will.

The study suggests daily scripture readings with thought provoking questions to record in your journal. Then at the weekly meeting participants have the opportunity to share around which exercise helped them gain significant insight for the week or share what touched them the most. The last half of the meeting provides reflection and deeper exploration of the weekly topic.

Companions in Christ becomes a way of life. Strong bonds and lasting friendships are formed out of this group. Participants share their sorrows and joys, questions and comments, ideas and thoughts. There are no right or wrong answers, no criticism or corrections. Everyone listens with a loving and open mind.
